The Ayurvedic Trust (AVT), founded in 1950, is a health-related trust in India. It is headquartered at Coimbatore, the second largest city of Tamil Nadu in India. P.S.G. Venkataswamy Naidu and The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy (Cbe) Ltd were instrumental in establishing this trust.〔http://avpayurveda.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=88〕 The trust promotes authentic Ayurveda, clinical practices based on Ayurveda theories on health and life, research in Ayurveda and awareness on Ayurveda among common public and global scientific community. The Ayurvedic Trust also runs Ayurveda hospitals including The Arya Vaidya Chikitsalayam and Research Institute, which has treated numerous national and international personalities including the former presidents and prime ministers of India. Because of close association of the Trust and common management with The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy (Cbe) Ltd., the trust headquarters is also known as the clinical wing of The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy (AVP). ==History== The Ayurvedic Trust (AVT) is a public charitable trust established by Arya Vaidyan P. V. Rama Variar along with P. S. G. Venkatasamy Naidu in 1950, The trust has made a scientific impact on the course of Ayurveda with an initiative to scientifically study efficacy of Ayurvedic treatment in Rheumatoid Arthritis along with Indian Council for Medical Research and World Health Organisation (WHO) in 1980's.〔http://www.rediff.com/news/2007/mar/05ayur.htm〕 This was a path breaking moment in Ayurveda with a rigor to study Ayurveda scientifically.
